Martial Arts: KHILTON NONGMAITHEM

Khilton studied for fifteen years under Guru Sinam Devabrata Singh,Principal, Hula Sindamsang. He has worked with elders such as Padmashree N.Khelchandra, late P.Ibomcha, and late P. Manikchand Singh. As a young martial artist, he was selected for the Festival of India in U.S.A. in 1986.
Since then he has demonstrated the fighting arts of Manipur in the Indian Festival in Sweden in 1987, the 1988 Festival of Chieri in Italy, the 1988 Festival of Indian Culture in Monopoli, Italy, the 1991 Festival of India in Germany, and the 1994 Festival of India in China.

In addition, Khilton has been associated with the Forum for Laboratory Theatres of Manipur as Martial Arts Collaborator for Actor Training since1992, and has conducted workshops for fraternal theatre groups in India such as Spandana (Bangalore), Koothu-P-Pattarai (Madras), Alternative Living Theatre (West Bengal), and Natya Institute of Kathak and Choeography(Bangalore). He is now senior instructor of Hula Sindamsang, Imphal, and is actively conducting research in pre-expressive levels of actor training systems for the Forum for Laboratory Theatres of Manipur.
